Person-Centered Approaches Training

For people being supported by services, it is not person-centered planning that matters as much as the pervasive presence of person-centered approaches.

For individuals using services to have true control over their lives and live self-directed lives within their own communities, it's essential that those around them, particularly those involved in their daily care, possess person-centered thinking skills.

Everyone involved should possess strong skills in person-centered approaches, as well as the value-based skills that form the foundation of the planning process.

Person-Centered Review Workshop

This workshop is designed for:

  • staff and families who have never participated in a Person-Centered Review and want to understand what it entails.

  • anyone seeking a 1-day refresher on the importance of Person-Centered Reviews and setting outcome-based goals.

It is also important for staff who organize the annual review to know how to prepare both themselves and the person they support, ensuring that the planning meeting is meaningful and productive.

1-Page Profile Workshop

This is one of the most popular tools we use. People we work with feel that they are truly heard when we help them create their One Page Profile.

One Page Profiles are used to communicate to health care providers, teachers, support workers, co-workers, supervisors etc.

Grief Support Workshop

This workshop is for anyone moving through a difficult life experience.

It may be a loss of self-esteem, self respect, self-identity or it may be a loss of more significance; a loss of a friend or family member.

Is for anyone experiencing some sort of loss and grieving that loss.

When loss is not grieved and remains unresolved it often contributes to self- doubt and insecurity.
